July Featured Restaurant: Flying Fish
Published: 06/28/2010 by City Confident Seattle
In late May, the hot and
upcoming South Lake Union neighborhood welcomed four-star Seattle
restaurant favorite Flying Fish. Relocated from its Belltown roots,
Flying Fish is now part of Vulcan’s environmentally friendly, LEED
Gold-certified Westlake/Terry Building.
Flying Fish’s reputation for
delivering the freshest, most creative ingredients and dishes continues
in their new home and features top-notch dinners like big eye tuna poke, black pepper wok swordfish, sizzling Gulf shrimp, grilled fish tacos, and sister-in-law mussels.
New to Flying Fish is a daily
lunch service that offers up everything from small plates, large
plates, platters, and bowls so that you can sample a wide variety of
the kitchen’s creations. Lunch items include a delicious Kobe beef burger, soft shelled crab sandwich, avocado, a goat cheese, and tomato sandwich, and a Turkish seafood pilaf bowl with shrimp, clams, and
mussels.
Renowned Seattle chef and
restaurateur Christine Keff will revive classic favorites along with
new menu additions for lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late-night
dining. Although experiencing a rebirth, Flying Fish will stay true to
its commitment to deliver the freshest possible fish to create
signature dishes using local organic ingredients, global spices, and
forward-thinking styles of preparation.
Keff remains committed to the values that first brought local and national acclaim to Flying Fish: an inventive, always-changing menu featuring the freshest, in-season seafood, and produce from local farms and regional fishermen.
